Continue your WashU journey, fully supported.
Each year, Student Financial Services will provide you with clear instructions on how to renew your financial aid for the upcoming academic year.
Need-based aid is based on your family’s financial situation and will be reevaluated each year. In general, if your family’s financial circumstances remain the same, your financial aid offer will remain the same or increase slightly from one year to the next.

If you are a current WashU student renewing your financial aid or applying for summer financial aid, note the dates and deadlines below.

Facing unique financial situations?
If your family’s financial situation has been significantly impacted by unusual events (special circumstances), you may be eligible for a re-evaluation of your financial aid.
How to reapply
For 2026-2027 need-based financial aid renewals, WashU requires that all current students complete both the CSS Profile and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).
Submit the 2026-2027 CSS Profile, which will be available starting October 1, 2025.
WashU’s CSS Profile Code: 6929
The Noncustodial Parent Profile is a CSS Profile submitted for your noncustodial parent’s household. WashU requires the CSS Profile from both biological parent households when parents are separated or divorced. If you do not have contact with your noncustodial parent, you may request to waive this requirement by completing this waiver request form.
CSS Profile Fee Waiver
You are eligible to submit the CSS Profile for free if you are a domestic first-year undergraduate applicant who fits one of the following criteria:
- Family adjusted gross income is up to $100,000
- The student qualified for an SAT fee waiver
- The student is an orphan or ward of the court under the age of 24
The CSS Profile for noncustodial parents of domestic undergraduate students is free to submit for noncustodial parents whose family adjusted gross income is up to $100,000.
Students will find out if they are eligible for the fee waiver while completing the CSS Profile.
If you have an extenuating circumstance in which you may need a fee waiver, but do not fall within one or the criteria above, please reach out to our office.
Submit the 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®), which will be available by October 1, 2025.
WashU’s FAFSA school code: 002520
To complete the (FAFSA®), you will need:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Your federal income tax returns (including schedules), W-2s, and other records of money earned
- Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
- The same Federal Student Aid ID assigned to you when you filed the FAFSA for the first time.
If you are a dependent student, then you will also need most of the above information for your parent(s).
To renew financial aid for the 2026-2027 academic year, log in to our portal, NetPartner, with your WashU Key.
Once our office receives this information, we will consider your family’s financial circumstances. Your financial aid offer is based on the information you and your parents provide. WashU uses this information to determine the amount your family can pay toward your educational expenses.
All financial aid renewal materials must be submitted by March 31, 2026. We will email you during the third week of May when your renewal offer is available.
You will not receive a paper copy of your financial aid offer via mail. Please make sure that your email information in Workday is updated so we are able to contact you.
If you are not applying for university-funded aid, only a FAFSA is required to be considered for federal and state financial aid.
For current international students
Current international students who receive financial aid will automatically have their offer renewed based on the financial information provided at the time of application to the university. Renewal offers will be released in mid-May each year. Appeals for international students are considered on a very limited basis. Contact SFS at financial@wustl.edu for questions regarding the renewal or appeal process.
Financial aid and study abroad
If a student is participating in a study abroad program through WashU, their financial aid offer will be applied to the billed charges associated with the program. Keep in mind that program structures vary—some may include housing and meal plans billed by WashU, while others may require students to cover these costs directly. The student’s financial aid will be applied to all charges billed by the university. If there is any remaining aid after those charges are covered, the student will receive the surplus as a refund check to help with indirect expenses. Check in with your financial aid counselor to discuss how your current aid works when you study abroad.
