For international undergraduate students applying for first-time admission, follow the steps outlined for you here.

International applicants for transfer admission are not eligible to apply for financial aid from WashU.

WashU is committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need without loans for all admitted undergraduate students.

Once our office receives your financial aid application, we will consider your family’s financial circumstances. Your financial aid offer is based on the information you and your parents provide. WashU uses this information to determine the amount we expect your family can pay toward your educational expenses.

1. Submit the CSS Profile (required).

The CSS Profile should be submitted by all need-based financial aid applicants. This includes incoming first-year international applicants. International applicants for transfer admission are not eligible to apply for financial aid from WashU.

WashU’s CSS Profile Code: 6929

Please visit our Application Dates & Deadlines page for submission deadlines for each application round.

The CSS Profile is used by nearly 400 colleges and scholarship programs. The initial application fee is $25, each additional college costs $16.

The Noncustodial Parent Profile is a CSS Profile submitted for your noncustodial parent’s household. WashU requires the CSS Profile from both biological parent households when parents are separated or divorced. If you do not have contact with your noncustodial parent, you may request to waive this requirement by completing this waiver request form.

If an international applicant is unable to pay the fee to submit the CSS Profile, they may apply for financial aid from WashU using our institutional form. This form will be available in the WashU Pathway beginning in October, after students submit their admission application.

2. Track your financial aid application.

The Financial Aid Portal tracks your financial aid application, which is separate from your application for admission. You will use your Financial Aid Portal to:

  • See your financial aid application checklist
  • See your financial aid offer as soon as it is released
  • Manage/review your financial aid offer

Application Status

To track the status of your financial aid application, log in to the WashU Pathway.

An account is automatically created for you when you submit:

1) Either the Common App or the Coalition App (Indicate on either application that you are applying for need-based financial aid. You do not need to complete your admission application, just submit. )

2) The CSS Profile

Within a few days of submitting these forms, you’ll be able to access your financial aid application in your WashU Pathway account.

3. Submit additional application requirements.

Supplemental forms may be required based on information you supplied on your CSS Profile. The Financial Aid Portal in your WashU Pathway keeps a personalized checklist of the forms that you need to submit. All forms can be found in the form library.

Facing unique financial situations?

If your family’s financial situation has been significantly impacted by unusual events (special circumstances), you may be eligible for a re-evaluation of your financial aid.
