Estimate your cost
We offer a few different tools to give you an initial estimate of your family’s financial contribution to WashU. Remember, this is only a starting point – these tools depend on the information provided and don’t consider any circumstances unique to your family. Reach out to us to continue the conversation!
Start with a quick estimate
The Instant Net Price Estimator provides a quick ballpark range of your cost to attend WashU. Simply enter your family income and the number of siblings in college, and you’ll get an initial look at what a WashU education may cost you.
In addition to the information provided within the Instant Net Price Estimator, please note the following:
- Students with noncustodial parents should use this tool separately for each parent and add the results
- Estimates may be less precise for students whose parents are self-employed or small business owners
- This tool is not applicable to international students. More information about the financial aid process for international students may be found here.
Get a more detailed estimate
Now that you have a general sense of what a WashU education might cost, it’s time to drill down to a more specific estimate.
We offer two cost calculators that allow you to provide more detailed financial information. Each asks a series of questions, which will help determine the monetary value of your financial aid offer and need-based scholarships and grants. We take these numbers and subtract them from the total cost of attendance. This final number is your estimated financial contribution (EFC) to WashU.
MyinTuition
This calculator asks six basic financial questions to provide you with a quick estimate of college costs, and works best for families with less complex financial situations.
MyinTuitionNet Price Calculator
This calculator asks more in-depth questions to generate an estimate of your net price. The calculator takes no more than 20 minutes to complete.

Please note that the results for all three of these tools are based on the information you enter and don’t consider any special circumstances unique to your family. While they provide a good estimate as a starting point, they are not a guarantee of financial aid. These tools also do not factor in merit-based scholarships, which are awarded separately from need-based aid.
Consider the estimates provided by these tools to be the start of the conversation about financial aid and affordability at WashU. Contact Student Financial Services with any questions, or to discuss your initial estimates.
